研究领域(Research Areas

代谢紊乱已经越来越多的影响到人类的健康,其常见的几种表现形式主要有肥胖病、糖尿病和厌食症等。我们实验室的主要工作是要研究这些疾病的发病机制。我们的工作包括通过生物化学的手段来寻找新的饥饿和饱觉激素,通过细胞生物学的方法来研究这些激素的分泌,并且通过动物模型来研究这些激素在能量代谢中的作用。

In order to stay healthy, human bodies needto keep a perfect balance in energy metabolism. Imbalance in energy homeostasis will cause metabolic disorders, such as obesity, diabetes and anorexia nervosa.The focus of Zhao laboratory is to understand the underlying mechanism of these metabolic disorders. We will usebiochemical tools to identify new hormones that are involved in hunger and satiation, tissue culture to study regulation of hormone secretion, and mouse models to study physiological roles of thehunger and satiation hormones.
